September 15-17, 2022

Elounda Town, Agios Nikolaos, Crete, Greece

Multiple Criteria Decision Aiding and Sustainable Development Goals

It is our great pleasure to invite you to the 94th meeting of the EURO Working Group on Multiple Criteria Decision Aiding (EWG-MCDA 94). The EWG-MCDA 94 is organized by the Department of Management Science and Technology, Hellenic Mediterranean University, and the School of Production Engineering and Management, Technical University of Crete. It will take place at Elounda Town, in Agios Nikolaos Crete, Greece, September 15-17, 2022

Elounda town is located 10km north of Agios Nikolaos, near the northwest side of the bay of Mirabello.

Main conference topic

Environmental decisions are often complex and multifaceted and involve many different stakeholders with different priorities or objectives. Multicriteria decision analysis (MCDA) tools can be applied to assess value judgments of individual decision makers or multiple stakeholders regarding the environmental risk management. The 94th meeting of the EURO working group on Multiple Criteria Decision Aiding (EWG-MCDA 94) aims to pinpoint the potential of multiple criteria decision aiding methods as an ideal support methodology for the environmental risk management.

Indicative Topics

  • Decision support toolbox for environmental risk management

  • Environmental, economic and social impacts of low carbon technology options

  • Risks and Uncertainties of Climate Change Mitigation Portfolios

  • Multi-criteria consideration of risk and uncertainty for climate and energy policy

  • Portfolio Analysis in Energy and Climate Policy

  • MCDA and tools evaluating alternative energy pathways

  • Quantifying Environmental impact and MCDA methods

  • Benefits of Flexible Policy Implementation

Department of Management Science and Technology

In the current business world, business executives, in addition to strong foundations in the fields of finance, marketing, and administration, also require in-depth knowledge of information systems and informatics, in order to be able to develop effective business strategies and decision-making skills, obtained by analyzing a large amount of data.

The new Department of Management Science and Technology of the Hellenic Mediterranean University in Agios Nikolaos offers precisely this kind of knowledge that is lacking from the study programs of other higher education institutions in Crete

It is a modern and competitive department that is designed based on the current needs of the market and provides its graduates with a competitive advantage in the labor market not only in Greece, but also in the now globalized economic environment.
